Nearly 80 per cent of drivers want the motorway speed limit increased to 80mph. A new online poll by Motorpoint has revealed that 77 per cent believe the 70mph limit is outdated and needs to be brought in-line with the Continent at 130km/h (or 81mph). Figures from the Department of Transport say half of all drivers drove faster than 70mph last year on the motorways network.
