We first took delivery of these boots in May 2010, and they’ve been put to rigorous use since. The pre-Christmas freeze sent us out into the great outdoors more regularly than most – that’s part of the fun of owning a 4×4. And the robust Meindl boots were perfect for wading through deep snow without falling over, even though they are officially only intended for ‘three-season’ wear.
They are proving to be a good boot. We’ve had few blisters, even when wearing them for lengthy walks, and they are light enough to be used for everyday wear, and when driving. They’re a good piece of kit for all-year-round off-roading – giving a bit of protection from mud without looking like army boots, thanks to the Nubuck exterior.
With the benefit of a half-year’s testing, we’d recommend the Kansas GTX as a good buy for anyone with an outdoor lifestyle. They’re good value, stylish and very comfortable. www.meindl.co.uk
